In order for a decaf version of Peet's best-loved Major Dickason's coffee to live up to its name, we knew it had to be the absolute best decaf available. That's why we made sure to use the same premium beans as the original blend, creating a decaf with the same full flavor, body, and aroma, but without any caffeine. This mellow and satisfying decaf stands out among its peers, whether brewed in a French press, drip, or espresso. It's the boldest of its kind.

The idea for our most beloved blend came from a loyal customer of our original Berkeley store, retired army sergeant Key Dickason, who brought the idea to Mr. Peet in 1969. Our founder worked with the local gourmand and coffee aficionado to perfect the blend, finally arriving at what is now our bestseller. The result was so exceptional that Alfred Peet decided to promote the blend from sergeant to major, naming it after his friend.
